On November 21, the basketball season here at Valley Forge Christian College (VFCC) started with an exciting three-day tournament. The Holiday Inn Express Tip-Off Classic was hosted in The Pit all weekend long, featuring teams from Kentucky, Illinois and Oklahoma. The Patriots, ready to start the year off right, gave their greatest effort to win in front of the home crowd.

The weekend started with a tough loss for the Lady Patriots to Lincoln Christian University (LCU) and was followed by two more difficult matches – the first against Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College (HBC) and the second against Kentucky Christian University (KCU).

The men’s basketball team put on an exciting display. After falling to the LCU Red Lions (64-70), the Patriots recovered with an impressive victory over the Saints of HBC (84-73). Senior guard Lance Harris led the team to this first win at home with 29 points, many being scored by tough drives to the basket. This game showcased an improved defensive effort and field goal percentage over the disappointing loss to LCU.

The Patriots followed this victory with another remarkable performance. In the closing match, VFCC defeated the KCU Knights. Despite an impressive 38 points from the opposing team's guard, the Patriots came out on top with an 80-68 victory. Antonio Malone (who contributed 13 points and 9 rebounds) and Jean LeBlanc (with 17 points) led this convincing double-digit win over the Knights.
