In November, Valley Forge Christian College hosted the annual Gobblefest Bible Quiz Tournament. During two days of quizzing, 300 players, coaches and parents participated in the competition on campus.
With 43 teams participating, the Gobblefest Bible Quiz Tournament has come to be one of the nations largest AG meets. Teams traveled from all over the East Coast to participate – from Philadelphia, New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio, and even as far as South Bend, Indiana (a 10-hour drive!)
The teams were divided into four quizzing brackets – two brackets of high school teams, and two brackets of junior high school teams. Interestingly, the contest in the high school bracket resulted in a tie between First Assembly of God Binghamton and Pocono Community Church; both teams won 10 out of 11 matches. Furthermore, the high school bracket featured the quizzer with the most individual points in the tournament – Aaron Scarinzi, of First Assembly of God Binghamton. Winning teams of the other three brackets include Redeemer Church (Utica, NY), Emmanuel Assembly of God (Allentown, PA), and Christian Life Church (Chambersburg, PA). Congratulations to Redeemer Church, which scored more points than any other team in the tournament!
As the tournament came to a close, participants and administrators looked eagerly toward the future; next year will be the 20th annual Gobblefest Bible Quiz Tournament, and many are excited to participate in yet another meet here on the Valley Forge Christian College campus.
VFCC would like to congratulate all Gobblefest Bible Quiz Tournament participants on a job well done. We cannot wait to see you next year!
