Former VFCC Registrar and Adjunct Professor, Rev. James Barco, published a book, Excel in Your World. In a world that is unfriendly to Christian values, this book is designed to help believers make a commitment to what Jesus taught. Barco was an employee at VFCC for almost 15 years before retiring, or so he thought.

While in retirement, Barco remained active in his church, serving on the Adult Ministry Committee and Senior Adult Ministry. At this time he felt a calling to leave something behind for his seven grandchildren. Something to remember him when his time here on earth is long gone. He began documenting his thoughts and before long realized that his words could be helpful for others to read.
