Volunteers Improve Campus Spaces

by Office of Marketing | July 12, 2010
Dozens of MAPS RV Volunteers will descend on the campus of VFCC this summer to work on numerous campus projects. Under the leadership of Ed Evans, RV Project Manager, and Dave Maracle, NE Regional Missionary of MAPS RV Volunteers, the group will make VFCC their summer home as they work to complete several major projects. The new student center, "The Anvil", is just one of the projects. A new Digital Media Center will serve as a hub of collaboration and creation for all digital media majors. Additionally, new music offices and practice rooms will be built as well as additional offices in the Harrup Administration building. MAPS RV Volunteers is an amazing ministry of the Assemblies of God that facilitates retired volunteers who fan out across the United States to work on various projects at churches, schools, campus and other ministry locations.

Ed and Millie Evans have been blessing the college for years. The Evans have made VFCC their summer home for twelve of the last thirteen years.

Dave and Linda Maracle are spending their third summer at VFCC. The Maracles work hard to recruit additional volunteers from the Northeast Region. Dave also serves on the VFCC Board of Trustees.

There are no words to convey the gratitude and appreciation that is felt by the VFCC community toward these faithful volunteers. Their legacy will be felt in the many spaces that have been created for the enjoyment and use of the entire VFCC family.

2010 MAPS RVer's at VFCC

This year, twenty-three couples and one individual, are making VFCC their summer home. They come from ten different states and stay for weeks up to months at a time. Their value to VFCC is immeasurable as they give of themselves to make the college comfortable and functional for the students.
