Golf and Cross Country Coming to VFCC

by Office of Marketing | May 12, 2010
Valley Forge Christian College is pleased to announce the addition of two new varsity sports. Cross country will begin in the Fall of 2010 and a golf team will compete in the spring of 2011.

Cross country is technically not a new varsity sport for VFCC. In the mid to late 1990s a team competed for the college and is now being reintroduced to today's students. Both the men and women's cross country teams will compete in several invitational's throughout Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and New Jersey. Assistant Director of Athletics, Ronshea Vargas, will coach both teams.

Golf is a brand new sport to VFCC and will be offered beginning in the spring of 2011. Initially the sport will be offered to men with the hope of adding a women's team as interest increases. Golf has created a buzz on the VFCC campus and the athletic department is excited to launch this brand new varsity sport program. The naming of the golf coach is expected shortly.
