Amy Thurston graduated from Southeastern University with a Bachelor’s degree in Youth Ministry and a minor in Counseling. She is a licensed minister in the Assemblies of God and has worked in Higher Education since 2002. In 2004, Amy started working as a Residence Director in the Office of Student Life at Valley Forge Christian College. She served 5 years in Student Life and 2 years as the Associate Director of Recruitment in Admissions before moving into the role of Director of Student Success and Career Services (The Center). Amy had such a passion for students and their calling in life. She told her husband that her dream job would be to love and invest in the lives of students, while being one of their biggest fans by believing in the calling God had on their lives. When she was able to start the “The Center” she began to see her dreams come true. Amy's favorite part of working at VFCC is when she met her husband Steve, who also works at VFCC! They love mentoring students and leading Chapel electives dealing with relationships.

Beverly meets with students, reviews resumes, gives advice on how to interview, how to dress for success and advising how to search placements for the future. Students can meet with Beverly to engage in career exploration, self-assessment and self-awareness, as well as allows them to research their employment opportunities and expectations that may surround career decisions. Beverly has two wonderful children: Christina, married, mom to Sam, and Middle School Librarian; and James, a talented musician and student at VFCC.
