Information Technology at VFCC

Students at Valley Forge Christian College are connected. You have ready access to the kind of technology expected at much larger colleges with our updated, campus-wide network and reliable 300Mbps Internet connection. Each living space on campus is also equipped with a wired network port to reach the same resources while physically connected. There are more than 150 wireless access points around campus so you can reach network resources and surf the Internet from your college-issued laptops.

Computer Labs

There are five distinct computer lab environments available on-campus for you:

  • Computer Mall - Dual boot, Windows 7/Mac OSX 10.7 Lion operating systems.
  • Instructional Computer Lab - Dual boot, Windows 7/Mac OSX 10.7 Lion operating systems.
  • Digital Audio Suite - Mac OSX 10.7 Lion and instrumentation inputs.
  • Production Lab - Mac OSX 10.7 Lion.
  • Video Instruction Lab includes - State-of-the-art systems with Mac OSX 10.7 designed to run the latest video-editing software.

Connect2 Technology Program Quick Info

The Connect2 Technology Program is mandatory for all full-time students and transfer students with 75 credits or less. For full details, visit the VFCC Connect2 site.

Email

Once you are accepted to VFCC, you will automatically receive a student email account that you can access anywhere the Internet is available.

When you graduate, you keep your email account so you will never miss future news and events and you will have a great way to keep in touch.

Elearn

Student technology at VFCC revolves around campus learning, community and content systems using Blackboard. These provide a wealth of information from classes to storage to community-building.

MyVFCC

MyVFCC provides access to student grade information, account information, and unofficial transcripts. In addition, all pre-registration is done online through this web-interface.

Integrated Library System

Symphony, a state-of-the-art library information system is available to search the Storms Research Center’s library holdings. This system also provides a web-based interface for searching. In addition, you have access to a “My Account” feature that allows you to request an item, change contact information and view the items that are currently checked out on your account.

Internet Use Policy

Internet use is monitored and filtered to help ensure that Internet use remains within VFCC’s guidelines for acceptable usage and to protect the College from illegal and objectionable material.

Phone

An active phone line is provided in each living space. On-campus calls, local calls, and 800 calls are free. Calling cards must be purchased to make long-distance calls.
